Getting started

Which iPhones does Vitaspan work on?

Any iPhone with iOS 26 or later. Vitaspan is in English and Spanish: pick the language at the top of Vitaspan's Settings.

How do I connect Apple Health?

Vitaspan asks the first time it needs your Health data. To change what it can read later, go to iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Vitaspan.

Some of my data is missing

Apple Health asks permission for each type of data, so check the list above. Vitaspan shows what's in Apple Health: data from another app or device, like a ring or a scale, has to reach Apple Health first, so check that app's Health settings too.

How do I add a medical document?

In Health → Documents, tap + to add a PDF or a photo. You can also send a file to Vitaspan from Mail, Files, WhatsApp or any app with a share button. With a Claude key, Vitaspan reads it into results, studies and action items.

AI features

What do I need for Ask, documents and meal photos?

An Anthropic API key:

Create one at console.anthropic.com, under API Keys.
Set a monthly spending limit there, so there are no surprises.
Paste the key in Vitaspan's Settings → Claude.

Anthropic charges the key's account for each request. Everything else in Vitaspan works without a key.

Without a key, the app asks me to sign in

Vitaspan accounts aren't available yet. Add a key in Settings → Claude and the AI features work right away.

Is Vitaspan medical advice?

No. Vitaspan isn't a medical device. AI answers and document readings can be incomplete or wrong, so talk them over with your doctor. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.

Your information

Where is my information kept?

On your iPhone, in Vitaspan's own storage, and in your iPhone's backups if they're on. Nothing goes to us. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what the AI features send to Anthropic.

How do I move to a new iPhone?

Set up the new iPhone from a backup of the old one (iCloud Backup, or an encrypted backup on your computer). Vitaspan's information comes with it.

Can I use Vitaspan on an iPad?

Not yet. An iPad version is on the way.

How do I delete my information?

Delete entries one by one in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it keeps. The meals and water Vitaspan saved to Apple Health stay in the Health app until you delete them there.

Everyday use

How do I log only part of a meal?

Open the meal and slide the portion to what you ate (¼, ½, ¾ or all). Calories and macros follow.

How do I add widgets?

Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit → Add Widget, and choose Vitaspan. For the Lock Screen, touch and hold it, then tap Customize.

Reminders don't show up

Check iPhone Settings → Notifications → Vitaspan, and Vitaspan's Settings → Notifications. A Focus can also hold notifications back.

How do I send feedback?

Take a screenshot in Vitaspan, tap its thumbnail, tap the share button and choose Share Beta Feedback. You can also open TestFlight → Vitaspan → Send Beta Feedback, or write to support@vitaspan.app.

My beta expired

TestFlight builds last 90 days. When a new build is ready, TestFlight lets you know, and your information stays on your iPhone when you update.
